arous Brothers Construction has emerged as a
leading edge, full service construction firm that offers our client base a variety of premium professional services. One of the most important benefits that we provide on all of our projects is rooted in the family values upon which the company was formed many years ago — equal opportunity and inclusion without regard for race, creed, religion or gender.

We have worked with community groups, local and regional governmental officials, outreach service providers, and trade associations to create a compliance program that provides meaningful employment to otherwise disadvantaged community residents, subcontractors, vendors and local business concerns. To administer our broad reaching programs and achieve the goals that we have set, Marous Brothers Construction has established an in-house Compliance Department, staffed by sensitive and responsive human resource experts.

From the onset of a project through closeout, our Compliance Department coordinates its efforts together with our clients, City and County Agencies, Not-For-Profit Community Development Organizations, regulatory officials, and our employees to ensure that inclusion goals and requirements are consistently met on a project-by-project basis.

Joint Venture Partnerships
Sometimes we use a progressive approach to meeting the compliance needs of a particular project through Joint Venture Partnerships with qualified, certified minority-owned and operated firms.

As an example, Marous Brothers Construction has teamed with Coleman Spohn Corporation (that holds MBE/DBE certifications with the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County), for the CMHA Garden Valley Homes Estate neighborhood redevelopment initiative.

The Westin Book Cadillac Hotel and Condominium project in Detroit, Michigan, is another example of a successful Joint Venture Partnership. Together with Jenkins Construction, an established Detroit-based, minority-owned General Contractor, we converted an historic landmark, 32-story high-rise into a 455 room, Westin Hotel with 67 for-sale luxury condominiums.

Also, our joint venture efforts with Urban Quest (a Chicago-based, minority-owned General Contractor) allowed us to build Phase I of Roosevelt Square Hope VI housing. This project included approximately 184 affordable rental units (of which 129 are public housing) and 234 affordable and market rate for-sale units.

Participating Area Residents (PAR)
Marous Brothers Construction works to ensure that area residents are given an opportunity to be employed on a project within their community. On a sampling of five recent, larger projects, over 200 area residents have been employed on our job sites. Many of these resident workers have been placed into skilled trades. By providing area residents with career opportunities, we are able to strengthen local economies and reduce unemployment.

Hiring Halls
Our hiring halls provide the forum to meet and recruit area residents and are held at the jobsite or a community resource center for the convenience of the applicants. Marous Brothers Construction enlists the assistance of community leaders and local /neighborhood agencies to promote and recruit interested individuals. Through this process, applicants are given the opportunity to complete applications for employment and training with Marous Brothers Construction and our subcontractors.

Marous Brothers Construction is fully committed to equal opportunity and inclusion and stands prepared to meet and exceed your mandated goals and standards.
