Six Employees of Marous Brothers Construction Commitment to sustainable building practices led company to Willoughby, OH– Marous Brothers Construction announces that six employees recently passed the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design program and are now LEED accredited professionals (LEED APs). Those employees are:
LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED Accredited Professionals have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System. “Marous Brothers Construction has always been committed to the principles and application of sustainable building practices in the design and construction of each of our projects,� states Mr. Chip Marous, president of the company. “As the green movement has continued to gain momentum, we recognize the importance of mentoring our employees, subcontractors and clients on sustainable building practices. To that end, we selected a group of employees to participate in twice weekly workshops to increase awareness of LEED concepts and implementation.� With a 34% national “pass� average, the LEED exam is designed to test candidates knowledge in four crucial areas of study: 1) Knowledge of LEED Credit, Intent and Requirements, 2) Coordinating Project and Team, 3) Implementing the LEED Process, 4) Verify, Participate in and Perform Technical Analyses required for LEED Credits. Twice-weekly, in-house workshops were conducted over a period of 4 months to better prepare our team of employees selected to attain LEED AP accreditation and represent various Divisions within the company.
