Elyria residents will be witness to the exciting transformation of their local high school as the century-old Washington building is renovated and a new, state-of-the-art second building is added to the campus. As a General Trades Contractor, Marous Brothers Construction will play a major role in the coordination of the 12 multiple prime contractors involved on this project. The Elyria City School District, together with the Ohio School Facilities Commission, owners of the project, set an aggressive schedule of just 30 days from Notice to Proceed for our estimators and project managers to secure over 40 subcontractors.

To help make the architect's (Architectural Vision Group, Ltd.) design a reality, our contract encompasses work in concrete, carpentry, structural steel, hollow core pre-cast, terrazzo flooring, interior finishes, glass and glazing, and auditorium seating. In addition, items such as lockers, acoustical panels, and visual display boards will be installed in the classrooms. Major architectural components of this project include the installation of two skylights, a greenhouse, and a state-of-the-art media center.

Now in Phase II of construction, the new 317,000 sq. ft. high school will soon boast a new student dining area, two gymnasiums, a science and arts courtyard, and a full performance auditorium.
