| Thanks to community support, construction on five new schools in the Maple Heights School District is currently underway. Serving as the General Contractor on three of the five schools, Marous Brothers Construction will be building the Elementary Campus portion of the total project. Replacing the Dunham, Raymond, and Rockside schools will be the Abraham Lincoln School of Early Achievement, which will be home to the preschool, kindergarten and first grade building. The John F. Kennedy School of Leadership will house the second- and third-grade building, and the Barack Obama School of Learning will be the fourth- and fifth-grade building. |
All buildings are masonry and steel construction with flat TPO roofs. For durability, the majority of the interior walls will also be masonry. Configured in a double-U formation, the Kennedy School of Leadership and the Obama School of Learning will share double gyms and cafeterias in the middle of the building. This unique design allows for flexible use for both school and community events. All three schools are seeking LEED-Silver certification and are expected to be completed in time for the 2011-12 school year.
