The Salvation Army Temple & East Side Corps Facilities
In association with Van Auken Akins Architects, Marous Brothers Construction has been hired as the General Contractor to construct two new Salvation Army Corps facilities.
The Temple Corp Facility involves a phased construction to allow for transfer of operations and careful demolition of an existing facility (a former school) which provides services to more than 1,000 people weekly in the North Collinwood neighborhood of Cleveland; whereas, the East Side Corp Facility will be located in East Cleveland on a vacant lot at the corner of Doan and Hayden Avenues.
Both of these new Corp facilities will strive to meet their mission in serving the men, women, and children who are at-risk and in need of financial, social and spiritual support. The single-story facilities are each roughly 30,000 square feet and include space for a chapel, multi-purpose rooms, kitchen, classrooms, gymnasium, fitness rooms and offices, as well as outdoor recreational fields and play spaces.
