Marous Brothers Construction led the $4.5 million Design-Build renovation of the Capitol Theatre, originally built in 1921 and long vacant before its transformation. Located in the Gordon Square Arcade Building, the 11,000-square-foot space was reimagined into a state-of-the-art cinema while preserving its historic charm. The upper balcony was converted into two screening rooms, the main stage was reconstructed, and period seating was installed to evoke a 1920s movie palace experience. Our team self-performed sitework, concrete, carpentry, and interior finishes, including plaster restoration, millwork installation, and door repairs. With upgraded acoustics and 3-D digital projection, the Capitol Theatre now anchors the neighborhood’s revitalized arts district.
