The Carpentry & Interior Finishes Group of Marous Brothers Construction performed as Carpenter Contractor for Gilbane on Raye, a 226-unit luxury apartment complex that marked the second phase of Van Aken District, a broader mixed-use development in the heart of Shaker Heights. Designed by SCB Architects, the 229-unit apartment complex introduces urban living within a suburban setting, anchored by two towers—15 and 18 stories—connected by elevated bridges featuring through-unit apartments and outdoor amenities. The design echoes Shaker Heights’ Tudor heritage with vertical wood-grain porcelain panels and a two-story metal filigree accenting the glass façade. Completed in late 2024, Raye sets a new benchmark for this multi-phased, mixed-use district.
