Saint Ambrose Catholic Parish

Situated in the heart of the trendy Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood on Cleveland’s near west side, the iconic building underwent a renovation to become a state-of-the-art movie theater. The upper balcony was partitioned to create two additional screening areas, and the original main Vaudeville stage area was reconstructed. Period seating was installed to recreate the ambiance of a 1920s-era movie palace, while the lobby and concession areas were updated with modern conveniences. The theater is fully digital, featuring 3-D projection capabilities and enhanced acoustics equipment. Marous Brothers Construction self-performed a wide range of tasks, including sitework, concrete, rough and finish carpentry, and interior finishes. Our carpenters reworked the interior of the theaters by installing finishes, repairing existing architectural plaster, restoring doors, and restoring and installing millwork throughout the public lobbies, corridors, and performance areas. The Capitol Theatre is located within the Gordon Square Arcade Building, another structure that Marous Brothers Construction had previously renovated in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood.
