Marous Brothers Construction was selected by Signet Real Estate Group to construct Axis at Ansel, a $25 million, 144,000-square-foot luxury apartment community in Cleveland’s Hough-Glenville neighborhood. Designed by Moody Nolan Architects, the five-story, Type III wood-frame building features 163 apartment units, a fitness center, and ground-floor retail space. To meet an aggressive 13-month schedule, our team utilized panelized wall systems and self-performed framing, including curved interior corridors that followed the bend of Ansel Avenue—presenting unique challenges for drywall and finish work. Additionally, crews successfully relocated a segment of Doan Creek over 60 feet below grade to prepare the site. Despite unsuitable soils in some areas, multiple foundation systems were implemented to ensure long-term structural integrity and performance.
